Intensity of care meeting intensity of need: Marianne Ibrahim

In this episode, Dan speaks with Marianne Ibrahim, who is Domestic and Family Violence Manager at Open Support - which is a designated social services ministry within Mary Aikenhead Ministries, and operates as part of St Vincent’s Clinic in Sydney. Marianne shares her passion for working with those suffering from domestic and family violence, and how she and her team have adapted the intensity and delivery of this care to meet the challenges presented by COVID-19. Marianne's overriding message is that whilst issues of domestic and family violence have been exacerbated by the pandemic, the problem has been there all along and will continue to be there even once the virus is gone. She challenges us to keep our eyes open for cases of domestic and family violence, and our hearts willing and ready to respond - now and into the future. *Marianne's email is provided in the full description of the show below - she would welcome any contact from listeners who have questions or concerns related to domestic and family violence.
